Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee!

Chers parents,
I wanted to say Merci! to you all for the lovely gifts and cards.  It was very kind, thoughtful and heartwarming.  One thing I love about teaching kindergarten is all the hugs I get--so grateful for that especially today!  May you all enjoy a peaceful and fun break with family and friends.  I look forward to seeing you in 2016!
Meilleurs voeux pour les vacances!

Newsletter December 14th

Chers parents,

We will be celebrating the holidays and another full bucket with our cali-partenaires Wednesday December 16th 2015.  Children are welcome to bring favourite board or card games to school.  Please ensure that the games are well-labeled.  We have much to celebrate!  The students performed a song on Friday for Mme Wettlaufer and she was quite moved.  We have been filling our class bucket ~notre seau~ with kind acts and speaking French.  We had two great field trips recently to the Saskatchewan Craft Council and to the Western Development Museum.  We had great experiences on both trips.  Thank you to Dawn and Robina for volunteering!

There will be a Winter Festival at the school Wednesday evening if you are able to attend.  Our class will not be performing anything before Christmas Holidays but near the end of January or beginning of February we will be doing a winter assembly.  Stay tuned for the date of that performance!

Thank you for all the support and I wish you all a good and restful break in the days to come and much peace and joy in the new year!

Activity Conferences

Le jeudi 26 novembre 2015

Chers parents,

Just a reminder that today we are having activity conferences.  Come ready to see what your child can teach you!  There is no school for students tomorrow.  We will have a new calendar ready for Monday.  We also have a parent volunteer helping us on Tuesdays and Thursdays ~ thank you Robina!

December 11th is our last day with Mme Wettlaufer!  We are so grateful that Mme Wettlaufer was able to do her teaching internship with us.  We have truly benefited from learning with her.  We will try to have the students write her a card before saying goodbye.

Next week Thursday, December 3rd we will be walking to the Saskatchewan Arts Council on Broadway at 9:00am to see the art and do an activity.  On Thursday December 10th we will be going to the Western Development Museum.  Please let me know if you are able to join us and volunteer for either excursion.

Merci!

Remembering...On se souvient...

Chers parents,

This week is a short week.  Today we walked to McQuarrie's Tea and Coffee.  We learned a lot from Ms. Darcy about the display and the veterans who fought.  Tomorrow morning we will be having a Remembrance Day service in the gym around 10:30 am.  We would like to remind parents and students that there will be no clapping as we pay our respects and honour those who died in wars. Wednesday is Remembrance Day there is no school.  Thursday and Friday there is no school for students as there is planning and learning for staff.
The Royal Canadian Legion also  hosts the city wide Remembrance Day Service beginning at 10:30 am on November 11th at Sasktel Center.
Finally, each year students enter the Legion essay and poster contests.  Information about these contests can be found on the following websites. Any entries for these contests can be dropped off at the Legion address below by November 13th.

Another note:  If you have not signed up for an activity conference Thursday Nov. 26th please call or send the note to see what times are still available.  Thank you!

A Bucket Full! Bravo! Le Seau est rempli!

Chers parents,

Welcome back from the Thanksgiving long weekend. We trust that everyone had a wonderful break. The month of October is flying by! Thank you to the parents who joined us at Pooh Corner last week. We had a beautiful day for a walk and a great time with the staff from the Frances Morrison Library. Thanks to everyone for participating in our colour days as well. Today we were truly bleu because we forgot to take a class photo and we had such great participation. We managed to get some individual photos as the children were dismissed.  Please note the colour days below.  The students have been so good at doing nice things for each other that our bucket is full of pompoms already. We had a great day today as well as we worked on circle booklets with Mme Wettlaufer and favourite books for sharing times.  To celebrate our bucket full we are having a games period on Thursday October 15th. The students can bring their favourite board games or card games to class that day if they want.  Please ensure the games are well labeled.  After Thursday, we will be encouraging the students to practice more speaking in French and adding pom poms to the bucket for that as well. Some of the students have already started, but it will be a regular focus in the next few months.

We will also visit with our care partners--les cali-partenaires on Thursday.

Mme Wettlaufer is also full-time teaching in our classroom as well.  You are always welcome to contact either one of us with any questions or concerns.

We have much to be grateful--reconnaissant (es) for.

Thank you for all your support!
Merci pour votre soutien,

Mme Wallace et Mme Wettlaufer
