Newsletter for Friday September 19th

Le vendredi 19 septembre, 2014

Chers parents,

Thank you to all those who came for the Meet the Staff evening.  It was good to meet in person again and connect with you.  If you ever have any concerns or questions about how your child is doing please do not hesitate to call or send an email.  We had a week of relearning expectations and getting back on track in our class.  We are all comfortable with each other now so we are working on how to respect each other’s space and learning.   I am proud of the work the students did on their We Belong/On appartient and Bienvenue au coin d’amis big class books.  We created the text together as well as the pages at each table.  We have done a lot of practice writing in our journals/cahiers and we will begin practicing printing independently.  Our class is very good at following directions and doing our best work.

Next week we will be going to Oskayak on Friday the 26thfor a POW WOW.  I have one parent volunteer and would like two more to make our trek more manageable.  The following Monday the 29th we are walking to Pooh Corner.  I still need volunteers for this.  Please let me know if you are able to accompany us.  Thank you also for those who filled out forms for the public library.  On the 29th I ask that if your child already has a library card you send it in his or her dossier.  Almost all consent forms have been returned.  MERCI!  This enables me to plan trips and take photos for our blogs.  Rest assured no child’s name will appear with photos on the blog.

If you have misplaced a note you can always go to the blog and see the updates there.

Thank you for helping make it a great start for the school year.  We have had 11 days of school as a kindergarten class and these kids are pros!  Bravo!

Votre amie et enseignante de la maternelle,
Mme Wallace
